About FFRA

Families & Friends Reaching for the Abilities!

FFRA was started in 1997 by a small group of parents whose children are developmentally disabled. This charter group felt that there was no single, reliable information source available in Citrus County to guide parents in making critical decisions affecting their loved ones. Membership consists largely of parents, family members, friends and other advocates concerned for the short and long range welfare, safety and quality of life for the challenged persons living in the greater Citrus County, Florida communities.

FFRA is an IRS 501c(3) organization and also has been recognized as a not-for-profit entity under the laws of the State of Florida and the Department of the Treasury (I.R.S.).

FFRA receives no funding from the U.S. Dept. of Education, the FL Dept. of Children & Families or other governmental funding sources.

FFRA membership dues are used to defray current administrative and operating costs. Dues are $20.00 per year, per family.

All of FFRA’s Board & Staff members serve  on a volunteer basis.
